So - TikToking then...

Listen, at the ripe old age of 61 and having my debut novel published, I got it - I'd need to navigate the world of social media to get word out. I'd used LinkedIn for work, but even than that was a limited activity for me. As publication day for Tempus Cross approached, with a little help from my wife and daughters (less-so my son who wanted no part in this), I suddenly became visible on both Facebook and Instagram. All a bit of an eye opener, as I watched these mediums scan me (intrusive!) for my algorithms and reconnect me with schoolfriends I assumed were already dead. However, this was nothing compared to what was coming, as my daughter, Lois, (heavy, heavy TikToker) came round to set me up an account with the chilling words: "Dad, are you ready to sing, dance, act and basically make a right old chump of yourself and post it out for all and sundry to see?" I wasn't.

But then the views came in (2 million in the first week, 3 million a week later), +1,500 followers and 670,000 'Likes'.

So, what can I say? Huge, huge exposure for my book - heaps of questions along the lines of: 'What's it about?', 'Where can I buy it?' and some just not about the book at all, more-so, curious about the lunacy within the post itself. But, hey - if it sells books, I'll continue to keep TikToking - hope you like the posts (and the book, of course).
